Your First Visit
For Dr. Wayne Myles, your comfort and safety are important to us, and we want you to feel welcome from the moment you step into our office. We understand that your first dental experience with a new dentist can be intimidating; rest assured, we will do everything that we can to help you feel comfortable every step of the way. The following set of guidelines will help guarantee that you are fully prepared for your first visit, so you can confidently move forward with your dental care.
How to Prepare?
We believe that patients can get the most out of their dental care when they are well-prepared and well-educated. Properly preparing for your initial consultation will ensure that the appointment runs smoothly, all of your questions and concerns are addressed, and that there will be no unwelcome surprises. Before visiting us, there are several things you can do that will enable you to take full advantage of your time in our office. This includes:

From friendly reminders about your upcoming appointment to an encouraging word or embrace during your visit, our smile specialists go above and beyond to show you how much they care.
Your first trip to the dentist is an opportunity not only to receive superlative dental care, but to get to know Dr. Myles and his staff. We want our patients to view their dental care as an experience, not a simple exchange of services, and encourage you to ask questions and feel at ease.
During your first dental appointment, Dr. Myles will take the time to discuss your specific oral health goals, as well as address any questions or concerns you may have regarding dental treatment. It is important to be honest and open about your questions and concerns in order to allow Dr. Myles to provide dental care that will suit your needs and wants. He will also review your dental health records and perform a thorough oral examination. This may include a full set of X-rays and will help him get an accurate idea of your oral health, in order to begin planning adequate dental care.
After this initial examination, Dr. Myles will discuss all of your dental treatment options, as well as the risks and benefits of each, so that you can make an informed decision regarding your oral health. By working together, you and Dr. Myles can create an effective, customized treatment plan that will help you obtain optimal oral health and a beautiful smile. We ask that you schedule your first dental visit at a time that is convenient for you, so we can devote ample time to your dental care.
We have made our new patient forms available to you as Adobe Acrobat files. For your convenience, we recommend printing and completing these forms at home. Please remember to bring your completed forms with you for your first dental appointment. As a service to our patients, we accept most dental insurance programs, including non-managed care, indemnity (traditional) and PPO out-of-network. Our accounting staff will prepare all the necessary forms for your dental benefits. However, we remind you that your specific policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your total obligation should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated.
The fees charged for services rendered to those who are insured are the usual and customary fees charged to all our patients for similar services. Your policy may base its allowances on a fixed fee schedule, which may or may not coincide with our usual fees. You should be aware that different insurance companies vary greatly in the types of coverage available. Also, some companies take care of claims promptly while others delay payment for several months.

If you currently do not have dental insurance, our In-House Dental Plan offers an easy way to save on your care that doesn’t involve signing up for a traditional policy.
